Things Should Come With a Warning!!

I think that all spinning apparatus (and fibres) should come with:

WARNING:

Spinning is addictive! It will take up almost all your free time, make you spend lots of money on all sorts of fibres and will make you think you've gone crazy with the amount of things in your stash that you have collected and wonder what you're going to do with all this wool!!

I stopped spinning the silver grey Gotland and am now spinning the dark brown Romney. I love spinning with it! This lot is almost chocolate in colour with the odd grey speckle. At least this way I'm not gaining calories by eating chocolate, I'm spinning with it and burning calories! I'll have to get photos. I am also going to crochet with my lovely Ocean Twist merino, making a friend a beautiful scarf with it which will come in handy for part of her honeymoon (in New Zealand)

Not sure what I'm going to do with my little skeins of Romney though, oh well I'll figure something out.

Still Spinning and a delve into ebay

No new photos yet, although I am having fun with my new Spinsanity spindle. I also finally used my almost 3 year old unused ebay account and bought myself 2kgs (4.4 lbs) of raw fleece (which finally arrived today) as well as some Gotland and Romney slivers sample packs with a few different colours and some black alpaca. I've spun roughly 25 grams (1 oz) of a beautiful pale brown/'moorit' Romney and made a gorgeous little skein with it. It's soft and I plan on buying some more in the not too distant future. I'm now spinning some pale grey/silver Gotland.

One of the fleeces is lovely; a long length (about 12cms/5 inches) with a good wide crimp in a nice dark grey almost black and it has some flicks of a pale grey through it and pale weathered tips in a nice dark caramel. The other one was suppose to be 'chocolate' but again it's a nice grey with pale caramel tips, length of about 6cms (2.5 inches) with a fine crimp. At the moment they're airing on sheets on my floor after spending almost a week stuck in large plastic ziplock bags.

Haven't spun on the wheel for almost 2 weeks now, having too much fun with my new spindle and the ladies at Spinning and Weaving all love theirs and I've got a few orders for a second lot of spindles.

I finally finished my 100 grams/3.5oz 'Deep Ocean Blue Twist' merino tops and spun it up, tried to take photos but of course the blues aren't showing up properly in the pictures :( I'm thinking of crocheting a friend of mine a nice scarf or something for her wedding in July, well her honeymoon is going to partly be in New Zealand and it gets rather cold there.

I'm having fun building my collection of fibres and so forth. I'll definately have to get photos of my ever growing stash!
